Following her admission as an attorney and conveyancer in 2003, she began her formal career as a legal advisor at First National Bank before taking up a legal advisory position in the Employment and Industrial Relations Department of FirstRand Bank. In this capacity, Regina represented various business units within FirstRand Bank at the CCMA throughout South Africa, lead the development of policies, engaged in various compliance-related functions for labour legislation, and advised the innovation team on labour issues relating to a franchising model.

Following her experience as an in-house legal advisor, she commenced practicing as an attorney after joining the Employment Law department at ENSafrica. Here she gained experience in advising on all aspects of employment law to predominantly corporate clients and senior executives, including litigation in the CCMA and Labour Court; the drafting of various agreements and policies; and on conducting due diligence investigations and advising on disciplinary and incapacity enquiries. Additionally, she advised clients on retrenchment exercises as well as on the impact of mergers and acquisitions from an employment perspective. In this capacity, Regina developed a special interest in advising on transfers of employees in terms of section 197 of the Labour Relations Act, including the impact of such on retirement benefits, and on restraint of trade matters. She has advised multinational companies on their obligations in various other jurisdictions in Africa, including Mozambique, and has demonstrated basic competence (spoken and written) in the Portuguese language.

After a period of consulting for Webber Wentzel on policy matters and consulting for Wilken Inc, a specialist labour firm for a period of 2 years, Regina joined Howes Inc in August of 2021, and has proven to be an invaluable asset to the firm.

She has published articles in the media and has conducted training seminars to clients on various employment topics, as well as on the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act.
